Music ranting and random thoughts.

Yeah, yeah, I'm doing another one of these again.  Whoop-dee-doo what a shock lol.  But this time around, I decided to do another entry into the whole Random thoughts thing.  Only this time around, it's about nothing but music.  Namely everything that's wrong with it these days.  If I somehow offend anyone...good.

- I don't care how hot she may or may not be.  Beyonce has got to be one of the most annoying people on the entire planet.  Every picture I see of her and she's smiling, it's that kind of knowing smile that says, "Yeah, that's right, I'm a bitch."  Not to mention that her music is by far some of the worst I have heard in my lifetime.  And then, "If I Were a Boy" hit the airwaves.  The first thousand times I heard it, I thought to myself, "Hey...she's actually attempting to write a decent song."  After that, I realized just how damned WHINY she sounds throughout the song.  No thanks.  Oh, and Beyonce, Destiny's Child sucked too, by the way.

 - The banjo has to be the absolute least intelligent sounding musical instrument of all time.  Where's "Deliverance" when you need it?

 - When Colbie Callait's first album Coco came out in 2007, I got the chance to hear about half the album.  What did I hear EVERY SINGLE SONG?  The SAME lazy vocal stylings, the SAME lazy drum beat, and some of the worst lyrics of all time.  I mean seriously, if the best thing you can come up with for a song idea is how your toes tingle, it's time to retire.

 - Justin Bieber....seems that he's EXTREMELY popular among the prepubescent female community.  Coincidentally, he's also just as popular among the adult homosexual male community.  So if you've got Bieber Fever, chances are you're either 12 or queer.  Take your pick.

 - I honestly do not understand the appeal of Lady Gaga.  She sounds like a Down's Patient throughout most of her songs, and she dresses in a way that people find "unique" or "eccentric."  No, she just dresses fucking weird.  Oh, and Gaga, Madonna called.  She wants her gimmick back.

 - I have pretty much come to the decision that Brett Dennen is completely and totally talentless.  Not to mention that he's an ugly sumbitch to boot.  Let's examine his music, shall we?  Worst singing voice I have ever had the displeasure of hearing on the radio at work millions of times, but the dude can't write a decent song, either.  Seriously, if most of your songs sound like they belong in the background of a vacation resort commercial, chances are that means you're not very good at all.

 - I still maintain, to this day, that no one, AND I MEAN NO ONE under the age of 18 should ever be allowed in a recording studio.  Willow Smith, Rebecca Black, and the aforementioned Justin Beiber, I'm talking to you.

  - When someone tells me that "I listen to any music that has a really good beat," chances are it usually means "I don't know SHIT about true music."

 - I just found out that Disturbed are taking a couple years break, as lead singer David Draimen stated that the msuic industry is on a decline.  Think about this for a second, BROTHERS!  Most bands break up because there's a lot of infighting.  Or because one of them died.  Or even because one of them wanted to become a solo artist.  But Disturbed are breaking up, because, in their own words, the current music industry SUCKS!  That's when you know we have a problem.

 - Let's face facts...I hate N*Sync.  I always have.  I always will.  Same goes for Justin Timberlake's solo work.  But I have to call a spade a spade.  I'm not a fan of his music by any means, but godDAMN he's a funny guy.  No wonder he's been doing the acting thing a lot more lately.

 - I REALLY don't understand the appeal of reggaeton.  And no, it's got nothing to do with its racial background.  Every song, EVERY DAMN SONG, has the same exact beat to it.  There's no originality behind that.  Which means there's not one bit of talent behind it.  And I'm sorry, but I only listen to talented musicians.

 - Yes, it's a tragedy if anyone in this world dies for any reason, I truly mean that.  But as a musician, Amy Winehouse just wasn't that good.  She had a horrible singing voice...matter of fact, she really did sound strung out most of the time.  Not to mention that the music she was peddling went out of style over 50 years ago.  AND inspired some of the worst bands in history as a result, such as the Noisettes and Mozella.

I think that this is about good for right now.  As always, comments are always welcome.  Thanks a lot.
